The quickest road route to Saleda is via the Zanzibar Border Post which opens at 8am and closes at 4pm.​

Travelling from Johannesburg through SA it is advised you go via the N1 to the Marble Arch exit, then through Modimolle, Lephalale, Swartwater and Maastroom.  Have ZAR 300 in cash for tolls.

If the river is in spate the Zanzibar Border Post  will be closed and then Groblersbrug Border Post is the best option.  It is open from 6am to 6pm and it is best to cross early morning to avoid long delays.

We highly recommend no travel takes place after dark due to animals on the road.

If you rent a car you will need to get a passport for the car from the car rental company in order to take the vehicle across into Botswana.

If you are driving your own car you will need the registration document.
